Mayer Names Melanie Cheairs & Lindsay Gorbach Equity Partners

Glass ceiling? Not here! We’re proud to announce the appointment of Melanie Cheairs and Lindsay Gorbach as the first non-founding equity partners of Mayer. Both women are industry leaders that are well-respected within the industry and highly regarded among their loyal clients.

Based in Houston, Melanie joined Mayer in 2022 as part of the firm’s merger with Lorance Thompson PC, which she championed, as a managing partner. She is an experienced trial lawyer with a steller reputation defending transportation, hospitality, and retail clients in both commercial and injury-related catastrophic loss matters. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of merging two successful firms while providing best-in-class legal expertise to our clients and I’m excited about contributing to the continued growth of Mayer,” said Melanie.

Lindsay, based in Dallas, also joined the firm in 2022 and has quickly grown her transportation defense team. Her experience includes a specialized focus on the litigation of commercial transportation and logistics, and she is uniquely admitted to practice law in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Of the appointment, Lindsay said, “As a female attorney who works in a predominately male industry – transportation – it’s nice to work with a firm who supports me and welcomes my voice at the table. I’m looking forward to continuing to help Mayer grow and serve our clients across the Southwest.”

Melanie and Lindsay’s commitment, talent, and dedication have earned them a position at the forefront of our firm's leadership. We can't wait to see their continued impact and success in their new roles.
