A Harris County jury recently awarded a favorable defense verdict on behalf of two Mayer clients in a wrongful death case. Plaintiff counsel sought a $1.5M award, accusing a primary care physician and nurse practitioner of negligence resulting in the death of the plaintiff’s 83-year-old mother. The two medical professionals were represented by Robert Smith and Artis Ulmer.

The Defense argued that the plaintiff’s mother had an extensive medical history and the defendants had consistently provided good care throughout her numerous illnesses and hospitalizations. The jury came back with a verdict finding no negligence on behalf of Mayer’s client.
