Katy first joined Mayer LLP as a Law Clerk in 2022 and returned after graduating and sitting for the Texas Bar Exam in 2023. Katy was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2023.

Katy received her Juris Doctor with honors in 2023 from Texas Tech University School of Law. While attending Tech Law, she competed on multiple mock trial teams and was a 2023 quarterfinalist in the National Trial Competition hosted by the Texas Young Lawyers Association. She was a member of the prestigious advocacy group at Tech Law, the Board of Barristers, and served as the Director of Communications for the Board. Due to her success as an advocate, Katy was inducted into the National Order of Barristers. Katy also served as the Vice President of the Student Bar Association, the Vice President of the Organization of Women Law Students, the Treasurer of the Christian Legal Society, and as a Torts tutor to first year law students for two years. Katy was also a Military Law Criminal Procedure Research Assistant to Professor Rick Rosen and a Legal Research Assistant for a Tech Law Librarian.

Katy has a passion for Innocence work and was a Student Attorney in the Innocence Clinic at Tech Law, which works as a branch of the Innocence Project of Texas. She zealously represented incarcerated clients in their fight for innocence and plans to continue to do this throughout her career.

In her free time, Katy enjoys spending time with her two goldendoodles, Disco and Birdie, cooking, and travelling to places with lower temperatures, even though she’ll always come back home to the great state of Texas.
