John Morkovsky is an attorney with the Dallas office of Mayer LLP, but is a native of Houston, Texas where he graduated from St. Thomas High School in 2005. After high school, John attended Texas A&M University where he studied Industrial Distribution in the School of Engineering.

John worked on the trade floor of a commodities firm in Houston after college before enrolling at South Texas College of Law, where he served as the Managing Editor of the Corporate Counsel Review and was a member of the South Texas Moot Court and Mock Trial teams. During law school and after, John worked at several well-respected law firms in Texas before accepting a corporate counsel position with a manufacturing and distribution company in Waco, where he served for several years before re-entering private practice.

John’s primary practice areas include business and commercial law, corporate, real estate, and litigation. John also serves as an outside general counsel to a variety of businesses and organizations in Waco and Dallas. A zealous and well-prepared advocate in both the boardroom and the courtroom, John has first-chair and second-chair trial experience in both state and federal court.

In his free time, you can find John on the golf course, cheering on the Aggies, or on a jet ski at lake LBJ. Committed to his local community, John serves on the board of directors of Friends for Life, a state-wide nonprofit organization committed to adult guardianship and elder care, and he is a proud member of Leadership Waco class 39.

John, his wife Rachel, and their daughter Helen reside in Waco along with their two golden retrievers, Annie and Willie, and are active members of Renew Church.
