Genesis Foster is an associate in the Houston office, where her practice centers on civil litigation defense. A Houston native with roots in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Genesis returned to her hometown to join Mayer LLP after several years honing her litigation skills in Austin, Texas.

Genesis earned her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of South Alabama.

Before transitioning to defense work, Genesis spent the early years of her career representing plaintiffs in personal injury litigation — developing a command of case evaluation, damages theory, and trial strategy from the claimant’s perspective. That experience from the other side of the “v.” gives her a distinct advantage in understanding how claims are built and, more importantly, how they are most effectively defended.

At Mayer LLP, Genesis defends clients across a wide spectrum of civil matters — from transportation and premises liability to dram shop and commercial automobile claims. She is committed to delivering rigorous, well-prepared representation at every stage of a matter, from initial case assessment through trial.

Outside of the office, Genesis enjoys traveling, exploring wellness and self-care indulgences, and unwinding with an iced matcha latte.
