San Juanita Veenstra is a civil litigator based out of Austin, Texas. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, and personal injury defense. Prior to joining Mayer, San Juanita practiced as a Padilla attorney at the Travis County Public Defender’s Office where she analyzed and advised on adverse immigration consequences stemming from criminal charges.

San Juanita received her B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Houston and her J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. As a law student, she served as Executive Editor of The Scholar, St. Mary’s Law Review for Race and Social Justice.  

Originally from Houston, Texas, San Juanita has since made Austin her home. Outside of work, San Juanita enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
