Kristen Roberts was a professional violinist before entering the legal field. Based in Houston, she performed with touring artists such as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Idina Menzel, Il Divo, Zac Brown Band, and Lindsey Stirling. Her career took her to prestigious stages including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and venues across Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. In addition to performing, she taught private violin, viola, and piano lessons to students of all ages and served as Director of Strings in the Classroom Violin program at The Village School.
Roberts moved to San Antonio in the third grade and graduated from MacArthur High School. Driven by personal experiences and a deep frustration with systemic injustice—ranging from ignored assault claims to healthcare failures and immigration struggles affecting her community—she decided to pursue a career in law to be a voice for the powerless.
As a law student, she joined the National Moot Court Team, which was ranked 17th nationwide, and won a State Championship in her first-ever competition: the Mack Kidd Administrative Law Moot Court. She earned several awards that year for “Best Brief” and “Best Oral Advocate.” During the same period, she interned with Hon. Michael H. Watson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, assisting in drafting motions for cases involving serious issues like 8th Amendment violations in prisons.
Today, Roberts continues to perform locally with Alamo Symphony Viva and plays weekly at the First Baptist Church of San Antonio for both traditional and contemporary services, maintaining her connection to music while practicing law.
