Katherine leverages her diverse skill set and experience to assist clients with advisory work, analyzing and drafting pleadings, and strategic discovery response and management. She has assisted with employment, real estate, transportation and general commercial litigation matters, and offers significant experience in motion practice trial preparation and alternative dispute resolutions.
A certified Texas Supreme Court mediator, Katherine has worked on a wide variety of dispute matters to achieve positive outcomes for her clients. Her prior experience as an investigator, where she handled forensic interviewing, custodial evidence integrity practices and assisted with litigation, is an asset to her clients.

Representative Experience
- One of the relatively few Texas litigators experienced with the 91(a) Motion to Dismiss Baseless Cause of Action added to the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure in 2014. Using this procedural device, she was able to secure dismissal of Plaintiff's entire case against client in fewer than 90 days after client had been served with process.
- Defended premises owners in 3 different Texas state court cases against common law premises liability claims, with amounts in controversy exceeding $2.2 million. Responsibilities included discovery management (including depositions), dispositive motions, and settlement negotiation and drafting.
- Defended a third-party insurance agent in Federal District Court where the decedent policyholder had allegedly faked his own death and was believed to have organized crime affiliations. Defended insurance agent throughout discovery and at his deposition, successfully keeping him out of the case.
- Represented plaintiff homeowners against HOA and property management companies under the Texas Condominiums Act, the Texas Non-Profits Corporations Act, and common law claims of breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.
- Defended a Texas notary public accused of statutory real estate fraud and civil conspiracy along with mortgagor/co-defendant in a reverse mortgage dispute. Favorable outcome secured at the summary judgment level.
- Represented plaintiff under Title VII and Texas Human Rights Commission Act for sex discrimination in arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association®, per a permissive arbitration provision in the employee handbook. Succeeded in enforcing the arb provision, requiring the employer to pay all costs, over the employer's objections.
- Defended small business owners in four different Texas state court cases against breach of contract and Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims, with amounts in controversy exceeding $3 million. Responsibilities included discovery management (including depositions), dispositive motions, and settlement negotiation and drafting.
