Jerry R. Hall is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels, concentrating his practice on catastrophic losses, transportation, professional negligence, and other business litigation. He currently serves as Senior Counsel at Mayer LLP, where he represents professionals and businesses in a wide range of legal matters. Jerry is known for his unique approaches to factual investigation and legal analysis, crafting practical strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.
Jerry has helped clients navigate catastrophic losses, transportation litigation, legal malpractice and professional negligence claims, ethical and regulatory compliance, premises liability matters, dram shop litigation, and other business and commercial litigation. His comprehensive experience extends to representing clients before trial and appellate courts, where he has successfully argued motions, deposed fact and expert witnesses, and prepared appellate briefs. Jerry also advises professionals on legal, ethical, and regulatory issues to help them address potential conflicts and compliance matters proactively and effectively.
In addition to his work as a litigator, Jerry is a prolific author and speaker. He has written several articles for the Dallas Bar Association's Headnotes and other publications, covering topics such as ethical issues in technology and changes in disciplinary rules. Jerry regularly presents continuing legal education (CLE) programs and has spoken at various legal conferences on topics related to ethics, professional liability, and compliance.
Jerry earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Baylor Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review and won the Mack Kidd Administrative Law Moot Court Competition sponsored by the Administrative and Public Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and English from Southern Methodist University, where he was a President’s Scholar and National Merit Scholar.
In his spare time, Jerry enjoys public speaking, training, and contributing to the legal community through his involvement in the Dallas Bar Association’s Legal Ethics Committee, where he has served as Chair in 2019 and 2024.
